These specialty plates are available to all Ohio residents, and can be purchased at any Deputy Registrar in Ohio or online at www.oplates.com. The cost of an Ohio State specialty plate is $35 in addition to your annual registration fees, and $25 is tax deductible.
The Ohio State specialty license plate program began in 1992 through State of Ohio legislation, and is administered by the Office of Trademark and Licensing Services. All net revenues from the sales of Ohio State specialty plates are contributed annually to the general scholarship fund, and have contributed over $5 million to date.
